Pimp, Ho, and Trash

Man I know by that title I will be losing some readers but hang in there for a second, it is not what you think...

The past few days everyone has been in a whirlwind on magic for the holidays. As we were shopping for Debbie's gift we came upon a decision that Bryce and I had to face. Samsung or that other brand. I told Bryce hands down it would be samsung. When he asked why I said "I am a samsung hore" don't take that wrong.. let me explain.

I have had many many samsung products that have been awesome. You hold up anything that is samsung and 'that other brand" I don't care if it was a million dollars more samsung would win. It is not because it is partly my name it is because I have had good experiences with it and it has never failed me. Now on the other hand, I trash Motorola. I hate Motorola and I have a Motorola phone I want to throw up against the wall. It is pink and it was a gift so I love it for only that reason...

Flash forward a few days later and we are at Christmas day opening up gifts. Nikki got this nice expensive blow dryer and flat iron along with various hair products. She asked what I thought...
I am a schwarzkopf hore (pronounces sh-wart-cough) I LOVE LOVE LOVE osis sherbet wax spray. Dumb company stopped making it and now I am mad. I would talk this product up all the time! I totally trash matrix product line (except their color line.. I love that!) Since they stopped making it I have become a fan of this...
I am in love with this product . It is called its a 10! It smells good and works great..

Now to the point.. I would like to know what you are a pimp, ho or trash talker of. It can be a specific brand of clothes, hair care line, electronics, body product.. you name it, just tell me I would like to see what you like/hate...

Green with Envy

Where the heck have I been??? I have to be honest and say my life has been pretty boring for the last month or so. I have had finals for school, Christmas shopping and now I have a 3 week break from school in which I am trying to catch up on all of the hair that I have neglect on my loved ones. I decided I have had enough of a cluttered bedroom where I cant relax at night when I get home from long hours of work. I have been jealous of all of those who have really nice bedrooms. I feel a bedroom should be ones' sanctuary that has hidden secrets that cant be told. I am green with envy.
so I am remodeling! We have taken out all the crap out of the room (Including the computer!!!) and we are starting fresh. Bryce nor I have ever had a bedroom set so we have been searching high and low for some. we found our dressers now we need to just find out bed. I am hoping our next place will be the lucky one and we will find what we are looking for. As for right now I have an empty room with carpet pulled up and a bed in the middle touching no walls so my wall can dry... It is the color you see above. I will hopefully get the rest of the 3 walls painted tomorrow that will be a nice warm cocoa color that isn't too dark. Wish me luck!
In other news, today is my best friends birthday. I miss her terribly, last night we went to the 'lighting of the candles' at the cemetery. They light a candle for every grave and it is really neat to see hundreds of candles lite. I didn't get any pictures but both Bryce and I stopped at her grave and wished her a happy birthday a day early. If you would like to read my last moments with her and her story click here . In case I am not on here before Christmas I wish you all a wonderful holiday! Merry Christmas!

New Moon

ok I figured everyone else would be talking about New Moon so its my turn to brag. This past weekend I went to New Moon.. twice. I LOVED it! I didn't care for the first one but let me tell you this one has me back on the wagon. I have never seen a movie twice before in the theatre but here is a first. I had the chance to go see an early screen (6:00) on Thurs with all the girls I love. It was nice to skip school and have a fun girls night out. I didn't think they would allow me to take in the camera to the theater so I left it in the car. After the movie we all went out to dinner to talk about the movie. On Sunday I also went again with Bryce and his family. yes, Bryce went and so did Julian. Anyone wanna go see it again? thanks girls for a fun night out! Below are some pics we took at dinner...

Some of the girls who went to the movie.

My man.....

It has been known that lately I have been MIA in life. I work, go to school, study, eat, sleep and on rare occasion I shower. I have left the house needs in Bryce's hands for the most part. I love him for it too! Weekends are a time for me to enjoy myself, relax, curl up with a book, watch a movie and if I can help it no homework is done on weekends. Over the past few weekends mostly this one I have found myself gearing up for Christmas, my favorite holiday. I got my Christmas list together which I plan on doing 90% of the shopping next sat. I am starting to pull out decorations, we went looking for a Christmas tree. This year I also told Bryce I didn't want to go over to see my family on Christmas. The feeling is dead there. It is not the same, I miss my family but I am realizing more and more each day that it is just.... DOA. example below. This was posted on face book with the title "Sisters".. yet I was there and I am no where to be seen and no I am not behind the camera.. Oh look it is ruth, aimee, amber, lynn and a family friend that they 'adopted' as a sister... nice.

I asked Bryce for his opinion on traditions. I think this year we are going to try to help a family in need along with that my family has HUGE traditions for Christmas eve. I would like to keep that going but in a different sense. Instead of the pizza, games, put the kids to be so we can wrap presents thing we decided we are going to do fondue and spritz cookies. last weekend we got to try fondue for the first time. We got our hands wet so to speak. Spritzer cookies are a tough one.. you have the flour so this weekend we decided to try them with artificial flour and see how they turn out for Bryce. We also decided to keep up with the tradition that my man is also dipping his hands into cooking so I suckered him in to helping.. no breaks on the weekend. here is the result...

Lets take a little bit closer look....
I am a bit worried now how he makes dinner when I am not home.

Ok so I was a little lazy on running back down stairs to get the camera to take a picture of the final master piece (which is really what it was) but let me tell you that they were YUMMY and I completely threw my diet out the door as I devoured the first batch that came out of the oven. I am glad they turned out and now... we have a new Christmas tradition.

'Tis the season!

I know I am already jumping ahead of the game here but I am on here in hopes that the 3 people who do actually read my blog will help me. I have become part of a women group (which is a long story on who, what, where, when, why and how) that meets once a month and does something for themselves. However this month we are a step ahead of the game and going to work on 2 very different project that will help those in need. The first one is a scavenger hunt (yes we are older but we want to make it fun!) for food for 2 hopefully 3 thanksgiving dinners for a few families that may need a little extra holiday spirit.

The second one is collect for a few animal shelters in the salt lake valley. Alot of people are starting to give away animals because they don't have the means for their families let alone the pets. Shelters are overwhelmed with animals to care for and the lack of supplies Isn't helping. As this women's group we are stepping in to hopefully help make a difference small or big. I am on here to ask anyone who is willing to help donate to please do. I will be more than willing to stop on my way to work, school or even swing by over the weekend to pick up some extra supplies you may have lying around the house. If you are feeling really motivated you may even pick up one or two while at the store... Please help! Here is what we need:
List 1
dog/cat food
cat or dog treats
kitty litter
Old towels or blankets
toys for dogs or cats (must be washable used or brand new)
beds (dogs or cats)
carriers
List 2
Paper towels
Large strong garbage bags
spray bottles for cleaning solution
small paper plates or bowls for wet cat food
towels in good condition
Laundry soap
Cat toys
Rawhide chews and dog biscuits
canned cat food (friskies or and brand at petsmart)
Dry food for cats or dogs in the following brands: Blue buffalo, proplan, eukanuba, iams, kirklands, nutro, authority, purina one, innova
Clumpy cat litter - tidy cat
Hard carriers
The first list is not as specific because they will take anything they can get. the second list is a bit more specific. They will be going to 2 different shelters. again I will take anything and I will need these by Tuesday night!

Finding the kid within

Every year around Halloween Bryce, I , Nikki and Julian always get together to carve pumpkins. We are such kids! This year was a different story. Way back when the rain was falling so hard in June, I went out to our garden to find a mysterious plant growing right in the middle of the garden. I knew I didn't plant it because I had our garden on a system. I decided I would wait patiently to see what came.

Somewhere in mid July I saw the first flower. I knew this familiar plant and I knew that it would should take over everything.. and it did. It was a pumpkin! That is weird I didn't plant any pumpkins but I in deed have one.. oh wait there was 2! I figured since all the bird transplanted a few of my plants they must've plucked it out of someone else's garden into our.. oh well fair game!

Somewhere in Aug I was talking to Bryce. We not only had 2 pumpkins but we had a 3rd one growing mysteriously in our cucumbers! Wow we did really well for not planting any at all. Then is all clicked.. this had nothing to do with the birds. Bryce last year had thrown our pumpkins out into the garden after Halloween and rota-tilled the garden. We must've gotten a seed or two back there and that is where the pumpkins came from.. odd, how did they survive the winter and the tilling and the plant and such???

By the end of September it started to get cold and we knew the garden was going. I went out and picked out the pumpkins and guess what?? There was number 4! Hiding! Wow. We kept them outside on our porch until last Tues. Nikki and Julian were busy and Debbie is gone on vacation so we went and picked up Grandma. She needs to find the child within her and we helped her out. We had pizza, pop, pumpkin pie, seeds everywhere and paint up the wall (not literally) It was fun but man were we exhausted! As you can see by the first pic. Grandma painted and we carve. The witch Grandma and I did together.

We had loads of fun and who knows what surprised we will get next year! As for right now I have a dirty house that has to be cleaned. Tomorrow we will have chili, homemade rootbeer, make carmel apples (sara wish us luck this year!) and loads of trick or treaters.

New Recipe

Ok so lately I know I have been abandoning my blog. I am tired, frustrated, exhausted, sad, overwhelmed, happy, tired, frustrated.. Ok I am repeating myself. This semester in school has definitely taken its toll on me (ask any who sees me! I am always fall asleep, yawning or crying out my frustrations.. really). I am trying to enjoy school but I just don't have the energy in me to keep up sometimes. Due to that my house is a mess, laundry isn't getting done, and food is missing out of our pantry! I have no idea where it is gone. anyways...

Bryce and I have come up with this brilliant plan to not only save money but to help with time restriction both of us may have. We are now planning our meals out two week in advance. 2 weeks is ALOT of time (well it is for me) and 2 weeks with only 1 trip to the store??? am I crazy??? So far (knock on wood) it has been a huge success and so far we are seeing as little as 10 dollars to 100 dollars a week in our pockets. I thought I was a scheduler before but I really have to be scheduled for this. I also have all of our recipes in my laptop so on Monday nights we go through and pick out our meals for the next 2 weeks, I make a shopping list, print all the recipes and post them on the fridge so Bryce can make that oh so amazing food I make! really, it takes skill (for the amazing food and organization) do I have you lost yet?? well lets get onto the recipe. I did not take a picture because it looks AWFUL but some of the best food I have had looks horrible so I thought I would post the recipe and let you try it before you see it. This one I got from my great Sister in law Alisha.. she is AMAZING when it comes to organization, cooking, and family time.. I want to be just like her. Here it is:

Chicken Tortilla Soup (the VERY VERY easy version)
1 rotisserie chicken - cut into chunks or shredded
1 can of chicken broth
2 cans of 'rotel' (that is the brand) stewed tomatoes with chilies.
1 can of no fat refried beans
1/2 cup of frozen corn

Throw all of it in a pan and simmer for 15 minutes
Serve with tortilla chips, sour cream, cheese and or tortilla shells.

it is YUMMY! and with the weather so crummy, it is a nice fast easy recipe. Even your hubby can do it!

Duckies

Today is one of those days that I do NOT have my ducks in a row. They are

Dumroll...

Ok for the last 3 months I have been working hard on my decorating technique. Anyone who knows me knows and don't have a single ounce of style but I am hell bent on make our house a 'home' to make it ours! I convinced Bryce to let me decorate (starting with the kitchen) to prove that it makes things more 'comfy' and if he likes it then I can move on to the rest of our house. I know it has been a while but it took me while to find all of the stuff and bring it together (not to mention the spare money I had to save up.. this was definitely 'my project'). I decided Asian themed definitely fit us both. Bryce is a bit hesitant on red walls so I thought I would keep our neutral colored walls and splash red and green with black wood as our 'pallet' (our cabinets and table is a very soft natural wood). Lets not keep the anticipation going here it is.. (next will be new dishes.. hopefully we will have them in the next two weeks.. keepin my fingers crossed! They will be dark chocolate brown and sage green, squared.. I love square dishes!)

Our decorations on the main wall (come and try our gong! it is great!)

Another view of our main wall with our pot with bamboo in the corner.

Our cute pot with bamboo.. it is BIG

Our table with our place mats that look ugly but they are an cute green.

Some more wall hangings on the wall as you enter/exit the kitchen

Our cute little tree next to our wall hangings by the entrance.

Our Sensty candle that ties it all together!

Now normally we will have something very classy up above our cabinets but right now its fall time so I had to put up our fall decorations. So here they are.. love it!

Left to right, the skeleton is above our fridge. The fall is above our stove.

The boo is in a corner and the spiders are crawling down towards the sink. We don't have cabinets above the sink but on the other side there is some more..

The harvest is to the right of our sink (next that is a window and the our back door.) We are definitely feeling fall around here.

Growing up

For anyone who knows me I am a person who cant say no. I went through years of therapist to learn to say no and I did well for a while (kind of) but I always worry that people would be upset or not want to be my friend or it would cause confrontation. It is just easier to say yes and deal with it.
The first week I started back into school for the semester was hectic. I was home around 8:30, eat dinner, shower and go to bed. There was no me time, there was no Bryce time. the 2nd week I would get home at 8:30 do homework, eat dinner, shower and around 11 or so I would attempt to hit the pillow. I told myself on that 2nd week it was only that I was running around getting book and supplies while trying to fit in work and hair both that I was so busy and it will calm down.
Last week I got another call for a new client. I love building up to new clients and I love doing hair but I have been dreading getting they stuff scheduled in with people who are so demanding and don't see eye to eye with my schedule. Its draining. I lost it. I cried. I yelled. I pouted. yes I did. Bryce told me it was because of my hormone levels but I knew it was because I was feeling neglected, doing some neglecting myself, and to be honest I am EXHAUSTED running around like a chicken with its head chopped off. In the midst of my blubbering I told Bryce that I was done with hair for the semester. If I didn't do this I would soon learn to hate it. He told me to rethink it later when I wasn't hormonal and so needy..
Yesterday I got a friendly reminder from my teacher that we are 6 weeks in to school.. 6 WEEKS! where did that go? and yet my schedule still has not slowed down. I have thought alot about what to do. My house is lacking, Bryce is starting to wear stinky clothes because I am so exhausted that I literally did NOTHING the whole weekend. Its great.. Now to the point of my story..
The new client I told you about last week, I said no.. no for the first time ever. This morning I came to the conclusion that I am doing no hair until the first week in November(except the commitments in which I already made.. and that is one person and she knows who she is). I need me time and I need time with my baby. I was also asked to do a continuing client and again I said no.. not until the 2nd week in November. I will write it down now. I said no! for the 2nd time I think in my entire life. I can not believe it. All that money for counseling is finally paying off. FINALLY. I just have to remember what she told me.. and keep that in mind.
Sorry about the rambling..

Facebook

I think I have FINALLY given in to a facebook account. I am not one to jump on facebook, myspace, or twitter. This is not a permanent thing but I thought I would give it a try. I am still have anxiety about it, it is just alot to take in all at once and I kid you not 20 minutes after I got my profile up I had a request from my mom. That request is still sitting there, I am debating what I want to do with it. I am still keeping this blog for more 'personal' matter.. AKA my family and leaving my facebook as a place to post our more generic things in life. We had some friends move yesterday and they are moving FAR away. Our hearts are broken and it was a sad but joyous goodbye for they will be starting a better life. One of the best ways to keep in contact with them is by facebook and to be honest it is the ONLY reason I am officially on there.. wish me luck..

More Photos and Update

The last 3 weeks have been crazy busy.. I mean Really crazy busy. I haven't had much time for myself and when I do have a breathing moment I am typing away on my computer doing the dreaded homework. I thought while I have a moment to sit down I would update. I am not feeling well so homework can wait. While I have been busy with school Bryce has been busy filling in the gaps and cleaning up the messes I make. I have such a great guy! He has been helping with cooking, cleaning, laundry and even helping me with my homework. He had no idea that when I signed up for school I enlisted him too! Thanks baby for all the work you put into making things easier for me when I am so dang busy!
