I got this and wanted to share...

Words for Women to Live By
1. Aspire to be Barbie - the bitch has everything.
2. If the shoe fits - buy them in every color.
3. Take life with a pinch of salt... A wedge of lime, and a shot of tequila.
4. In need of a support group? - Cocktail hour with the girls!
5. Go on the 30 day diet. (I'm on it and so far I've lost 15 days).
6. When life gets you down - just put on your big girl panties and deal with it.
7. Let your greatest fear be that there is no PMS and this is just your personality.
8. I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok. They know me here.
9. Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself.
10. Don't get your knickers in a knot; it solves nothing and makes you walk funny.
11. When life gives you lemons in 2010 - turn it into lemonade then mix it with vodka.
12. Remember, wherever there is a good looking, sweet, single or married man there is some woman tired of his bullshit!
13. Keep your chin up, only the first 40 years of parenthood are the hardest.
14. If it has Tires or Testicles it's gonna give you trouble.
15. By the time a woman realizes her mother was right, she has a daughter who thinks she's wrong.

now all I have to say is AMEN!

World Dutch Oven Championship!

Every year my brother and sister spend alot of time, money and hard work to compete is only the best of the best dutch oven cook offs. Now i have posted on this before and this year will be no different. I am proud of my brother and sister, and I call myself his good luck charm, although I am really not. Every year I spend the 10 or so dollars to go and cheer him on. I thought I would make you all jealous at what he can do in a cast iron pot, let me remind you all of this is done in a dutch oven. I am impressed to say they even made ice cream! I wish I could post all of the pictures but if you would like to see them you can go Here and Here. If you would like to watch some video of this intense competition you can go here. Just click on any of the pictures and it will take you to the video...

This year my brother and sister took 3rd. It is not first but it is prize worthy! Here are a few photos. Wish us luck for next year first place!!!!!

their pre-game faces

Starting off with their dessert. Home made apple pie with homemade ice cream. It is a family secret! Literally!

Next is the bread.. stuffed meat or rather something bread (they have a great name that I screw up every time!)

Check the pie and the bread is getting nice and toasty behind them!

Next comes the main dish, getting it prepped (do you see that "are you serious" look on my sisters face??? Kind of funny!)

Time to get it going!

Just in time for the pie to come out! Yum!

Grand Finale! Presenting....

Too bad your brother cant make this for you, are you jealous????

Now for all of you that are wondering, you can get a taste of this tasty stuff! They do catering and you are more than welcome to contact me through here, face book or both of them on face book. Congrats to my brother on 3rd!

Cowboy cookie recipe!!!!

Cowboy Cookies

1 1/2 c. butter flavored shortening
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs

Cream ingredients together.

3 c. flour
3 c. oats
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
2 c. chocolate chips (plus 1 1/2 c. peanut butter chips if you want them to be extra delish)

Mix dry ingredients together. Slowly combine with egg mixture until well blended. drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-12 min. (depending on your oven and how you like your cookies). The cookies seem to turn out best if you refrigerate the dough for a couple of hours after making it, but it definitely isn't necessary.

A Wild Ride, Hold on Tight

Wow, I have been really lacking in the blogging dept. As a matter of fact I have been lacking on my to-do list. I am hoping things will slow down. I am on week 10 of school.. That means I am scarcely 5 weeks away from graduating! WOO HOO! Can you tell the countdown is on??? Speaking of school.. anyone Volunteer to help me get ready for my written exam?? anyone??
My new goal for the week... Post my (Sara's) Cowboy cookie recipe and post my new recipe I made last night from my great cookbook. That is my goal to accomplish before Tuesday of next week. My other goal was no plan making for the week of spring break.. everything has gone all but planned for this week, so far so good.
Now for a little more serious side of things. The past 2 weeks have really made me reflect on life. I don't think I have cried remotely close to the time I found out my father had cancer up until now. There is alot going on in my life and I have alot to be grateful for. For the sake of certain people in my family I cannot explain what is going on. I can say that my family has been put through hell the last 2 week. It makes me extremely grateful for the relationships that I do have with certain members. The term "I would do anything for you" has taken place before my own eyes. Everyday I am amazed by the man that I have by my side. I have never had a boyfriend who has been so willing to take me in, in the condition that I was in when he met me, and love me, love my family and be so willing to give of himself. To Bryce it may have been something so small but to me it was the world. He gave a HUGE sacrifice to help out one of the most important people in my life.
Besides that and a few other things there is a positive note to this. I was able to sit down with my sister and have a talk. It wasn't a long talk and it wasn't a bad talk but I think it is on the plus side of being mended. We do not trust each other and we are a bit hesitant (on both sides!) but we are trying. Is this a step forward?? Maybe. Is it a step back?? Possibly. For right now it is just a step, later I will sort out which directions
Once again I have to say a big THANK YOU to Beckah for helping me out this week. She scheduled an appt to do a shoot (and a few others in the process!) for me as a gift to my sister since she is pregnant. I do not know if I will post these pictures for I know that these were for her and not me. If Amber (my sister) gives me the go ahead I may post one picture of her shoot with Beckah, if not I am sorry you all will miss out on the amazing talent of Beckah and the beauty that a child in the womb brings.
As for this week, I will continue to be on this wild ride until we find out the results of everything that is going on... Until then, I will be praying that prayers of others who may be concerned are heard.
