Tom Hanks and Park City

Tom Hanks is a great actor, he is not my favorite actor but he is among my top 5. Did you know his birthday is July 9th (which happens to be last Thurs)? Happy birthday Tom! here are a few facts about him

  • He has been in many great movies like: A league of their own (my Favorite movie ever!), Cast Away, You've got mail, Davinci Code, Angels and Demons, Forest Gump and many more.
  • Is married to Rita Wilson and has been since 1988
  • Is related to Bill Cosby (by marriage)
  • Lost 30 pounds for his role in Philadelphia and then later gained 50 pounds for Cast away and had to lose the 50 pounds for the end of the movie.
  • Has 4 Children
  • was asked to play the role of Jerry McGuire.
  • Voted Best Actor in 1995
  • Shares a birthday with the one and only... Me

With that being said I thought I would pull in what has happened over the last week. (in case you don't know how this all comes together read the first paragraph of this post and the last fact about Tom Hanks)

Last Wednesday was a very hard day on me. I have been having a lot go on at work and as hard as I try to not bring it home, I am. My jaw is in severe pain from unintentionally clenching it. I am getting migraines and having a hell of a time breathing/relaxing/sleeping. I am getting very sick from it. Wed. night I came home and cried.. I eventually cried myself to sleep. Bryce had hit up the store for groceries seems how I have been lacking in that department.

Thursday I woke up in a severely bad mood. I didn't want to go into work I wanted to stay home and sleep, but needless to say I have to pay bills somehow right? I went out to my car to find pretty flowers in my front seat along with a bag, a gift, for me!

I have to be honest and say I have the greatest guy in the world! He had a card that I read that made me cry. It is very personal to me otherwise I would share it with you. In the (pink) bag was a new wii gave. The new wii Active. I am excited to try this game out. I went to work feeling a bit better but having my jaw locked up. My dear friends Jen and Kerri Also got me a gift filled with cute bags, a new recipes book 200 under 200: 200 recipes under 200 calories. Can you imagine breakfast cookies, raspberry swapachinnos, oh my! and a few gift cards.

At work they also bought me a Nothing Bundt cake:

I went home on Thurs. And there was another package for me. I couldn't open in until Bryce got home so I went and hit up a store to pick up a few things for our kitchen. I am in the process of decorating the kitchen, more pics to come when I have that complete. Back to the package: He finally got home and inside was these dang cute camo/bullet shoes I saw in a store and he had found them on the Internet and ordered them! (see the pic above). I am way excited!!! My day had to end. We ate dinner and attempted to relax.

Friday, We had our dear sweet friends spoil not only me but Bryce too with a night out. I didn't get any pics and I wish I would have take a camera because there were things you probably wouldn't see happen. We hit up the local Cheese Cake Factory for dinner where I got a yummy salad and yummy yummmmmy cheesecake and a bunch of people singing to me.

After dinner, They took us to Keys on main. I feel completely horrible because I got sick. I had been sick earlier at work and had come home to take some alieve and sleep it off but the tension in my jaw was still so bad that it had made me nauseated. We almost had to go home but I went to the restroom (multiple times) and started to feel better, and no I did not puke my dinner back up.

We headed in and had a blast!! I have never been to a piano bar but it was fun, even if you dont drink, to go in there and see the talent that these people have. I wish I could play the piano like they do. One day I will have my own piano in this house that I will be able to hammer away at to achieve that perfection. We had battles with songs (you pay money to play a song you like, the more money the sooner it will get played. If you don't like a song that is being played you can pay more money than the person who requested it to stop it) Brittany and Eddie thought it would even be cute and get me up there to 'Baby got back' instead there was a batchelorette party that they got up on stage to dance to. Needless to say I got the 'hokey pokey'. After much begging (ok I asked them once) they let me drag Brittany up there too. the typical: Right hand, left hand, right foot, left foot.. oh and to make it more interesting they did right boob.. yeah you got that right... my boob. Ok we all know I have a HUGE chest but even the piano players we LOVING IT, oh and Bryce said we got the most cheers of the night!!!!! but my chest didn't do it all. We had Brittany's booty that helped with it too. Way to go US!!!! This is definitely a place we will go back to just to have a good time. When we got home we crashed!

Saturday morning we woke up, Bryce had a day planned for me. We headed up to good old Park City. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Park City. It is the best place to go that is close. We had our 4 year 'anniversary' on sat so this was something to celebrate both my.. and my.. well you get it) He took me to lunch at the eating Establishment (just an OK place) and then we headed over to the Alpine slide Aka Park City Mountain resort.

All those little buildings are where you start off at.

We got day passes and spent the entire day up there. We got to do the alpine slide, Zip Line (which I almost pee'd my pants going on, literally) the alpine coaster, the maze, and much more. They even had a wedding going on up there, how sweet! the wedding party had to ride the tram to the top where they perform the wedding then they ride down the alpine slide. At this point it started to get way too windy and they had to shut down the zip line so we went over to the slide where the entire wedding party was. If it starts to rain you lose all brake capability you have on this slide. Just our luck that we start going down and it starts to rain.

The poor groomsmen hurt himself because he lost all brake capability and couldn't stop at the end, and the person who went down next to me (who happened to have his 2 to 4 year old son on his lap) crashed off the track. It was scary! but then the sun came out and dried up all the tears. We stayed up there until they decided it was time to close. I had a fun time and was sad to have it end. On the way down we hit dinner at squatters and got home after midnight. I didn't even take off my make up I went right to bed. Here are a few pics of the day's events

Alpine slide from the tram

Bryce, Getting ready for take off

This was me right before the raining incident.

We took a break and hit up rocky mountain chocolate factory. We got chocolate strawberry's, Chocolate Cherries and a Carmel apple.

Carmel Apple we got.

The Human Maze

Let me out!

On the lift.

Taking a break, how sweet!

At the end of the night, we stopped by a stand where a guy was doing caricatures. I thought it would be fun to mark up our anniversary with one of these. Overall the weekend was fun! I don't want it to end but all things must end at some point.

** I wished I would have gotten pics of the coaster and the zip line but you go so fast and if you drop something it is lost forever so I didn't want to lose our camera. Maybe next time

The first time I saw Tom Hanks, he was in the 80's sitcom, Bosom Buddies. He and his roommate had to dress as women to keep their apartment. Tom Hanks is hilarious as a woman! You can google/utube and find clips.
